I guess I wonder silly things like Did I mean everything I said like I always loved you when I said I loved you then And we were more than friends and I Always loved you when I gave my name and then I’m like I’ve always been right? I guess I wonder silly things like Does she do everything you need like Does she write songs for you And has she longed for you And is she really true cause I Always wanted to but What you put me through I guess I always knew but I… I guess I wonder silly things like Did I give everything I could like Did I show up for you And did I make it true That you deserve your due and I Had a lot to prove but But did I see you through Or did I fail you too Cause I… I guess I wonder silly things I guess I wonder silly things

Who could Ever Say no I keep my heart protected But this sugar has me melting Who could Ever Say no Your touch is like you know me It’s fast for moving slowly But don’t speak Don’t say We both know it I fall Too fast Can’t help but show it Have I Ever Been loved It’s hard when you believe in Something so deceiving Have I Ever Been loved You show me what I’m missing But I don’t want to give in But don’t speak Don’t say We both know it I fall Too fast Can’t help but show it And if I let you come inside What becomes of me? And if I let you come inside What becomes of me? So don’t speak Don’t say We both know it I fall Too fast Can’t help but show it So don’t speak Don’t say We both know it I fall Too fast Can’t help but show it

And every time I kiss you it’s like falling from the sky I land and fall to pieces every time I make you sigh And now that I need you Can I still fly? Well I’ve been having these feelings That I need to try But every time I kiss you it’s like falling from the sky I’m falling free into the arms of singular desire And now that I need you Can I still fly? Well I’ve been having these feelings That I need to try But every time I kiss you it’s like falling from the sky And every time I touch you it’s like stealing you from time I lose myself in darkness every time you shut your eyes And now that I need you Can I still fly? Well I’ve been having these feelings That I need to try But every time I kiss you it’s like falling from the sky I’m falling free into the arms of singular desire And now that I need you Can I still fly? I’ve been having these feelings That I need to try ‘Cause every time I kiss you it’s like falling from the sky

you’ve never danced alone | New album from Natasha Kmeto, out Sept. 25, 2020 via Future Archive Recordings.
____________________________________________________________

Natasha Kmeto announces her return, bringing her singular sound back to fans with the release of her third full-length album, "you’ve never danced alone". The forthcoming album is her first full-length album release since 2015 and is due on Sept. 25, 2020.

Kmeto wrote, recorded, performed, engineered and mixed "you’ve never danced alone" in her studio in Portland, OR. It was mastered at Breakpoint Mastering in Portland, OR.

The album is composed of 11 tracks and ranges from bittersweet love songs like “nothing forever” and “she found me” to soulful dance tracks like “trust issues” and the title track “you’ve never danced alone”.

Since her last full-length release “Inevitable”, Kmeto's sound remains emotionally driven yet more grounded and assured. The songs are inspired by major life changes including a divorce, finding new love, exploring sobriety and re-connecting with forgotten ancestry. Writes Kmeto: “This album is a snapshot of my life at a very tumultuous time... the album progresses as my life did... creating this helped me gain a deeper understanding of myself…”

Sonically, the album draws influence from minimal techno, house, IDM and dark wave. “I wanted to return to a more minimal style of composition, more reminiscent of my first album," continues Kmeto. "I’ve always believed firmly in the power of negative space to really highlight what’s most exciting about sound and vibration.”

Each track has a unique story of its own but the album centers itself around what Kmeto has become known for: emotional, intimate and soulful music that roots itself in honest self-exploration.

'you've never danced alone' will be released on Sept. 25, 2020 via Future Archive Recordings.

ARTIST BIO

Natasha Kmeto is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer from Portland, OR. Her music weaves soulful vocals through planes of timeless electronic production. Kmeto’s live show is an emotionally immersive experience; open and honest lyrics are compellingly set over dynamic minimal rhythms and unique, lush soundscapes. As a queer artist composing for the future, Kmeto’s music is still very much steeped in the rich history of dance music with reverential nods to house, electro, d'n'b and techno. Her songs aim to connect, and give an intimate glimpse into often untold stories while making the listener feel they've known the story all along.

Natasha is at her best on stage, and she has performed internationally in Europe and Canada. She has toured the U.S. several times; most notably opening for TV on the Radio, playing legendary stages like The Apollo Theater, The 9:30 Club, and The Henry Miller Library. Performances at major festivals include Coachella, Bumbershoot, SXSW, and Treefort. Other notable performances include sharing the stage with Four Tet, Squarepusher, Shabazz Palaces, DRAMA , Beacon and Roisin Murphy. Kmeto’s music has been featured by NPR, Pitchfork, Spin, Fader, Resident Advisor and Rookie. Featured live in-studio performances include Boiler Room KEXP and OPB. Her tracks have been played by numerous eminent DJs including the legendary tastemaker, Mary Ann Hobbes for BBC Radio One.

"As queer identity gets shoved aside with the mainstreaming of electronic music, as if the queer community didn't fuel the genre's formation, it's more vital than ever to have voices like Kmeto's bringing it to the forefront. This, without question, is a record of discovery and confusion as much as it is about the power of confidence in understanding and loving oneself. Inevitable is a collection of slowly ripping cords, the underlying tension manifesting on tracks as if Kmeto must manage simmering emotions and can’t, or maybe won’t."

-Pitchfork

"We can’t recommend the album highly enough: lady sings the electro-blues."

-The Guardian

“Kmeto's power comes down to the way she displays her personal life—sexual energy, anger, pride and sadness all burn a hole right through the club-informed music. The formula makes Inevitable feel as fiery as it is intimate.”

- Resident Advisor
